About

Welcome to the Sakura Bug travel blog! This blog is created by a group of travelers who love traveling in Japan the Free and Easy way; sharing with you their wonderful experiences and taking you along the route less traveled.

I grew up listening to J-pop and watching the annual Red and White song festival. I was fortunate to get many opportunities to visit Japan and found this an absolutely fascinating country. There are so many scenic places and natural wonders to visit, cultural activities to participate in or just indulge in the gastronomic adventures. Furthermore, Japan is an extremely clean and orderly country with courteous and helpful people.

Along the way, I discovered the joys of traveling in free and easy style. A large part of the joy in traveling comes from discovering new places, new things and new experiences. Break free from being hassled around and explore at a pace and schedule that you are comfortable with; where you can relax and take in the new experiences leisurely.

Now traveling free and easy does require a little more homework prelude to the escapade. However, the returns are so much much much more. In addition, the little homework helps to start off the discovery process. By reading this blog, you are moving on the fast track path to a great trip in Japan. You will be hearing personal experiences and recommendations from fellow travelers whom have taken this path.

This site is maintained by volunteers who are sharing their passion but have a full time job to attend to as well. Your feedback is important to us and we do apologize if we are unable to respond to you promptly.

I sincerely hope that you find the info in this blog useful. Have a fantastic trip in Japan!
